The hardest part of consulting isn’t the work, it’s the mindset shift.

Going from employee to consultant sounds empowering (and it is!), but it also requires rethinking how you operate at a core level.

💼 Structure → Self-Motivation No boss. No set hours. It’s just you managing time, priorities, and progress. Learning how to build your own rhythm is a process.

💸 Stability → Uncertainty There are months when the inquiries flow in, and others when things are quiet. Managing the emotional ups and downs of inconsistent income is a real challenge.

🗣️ Being a Team Member → Being an Identity Talking about your value doesn’t come naturally to everyone (myself included). You’re not just doing the work - you’re also positioning yourself, marketing your services, and owning your expertise.

It’s hard. But it’s also freeing, expansive, and deeply rewarding.

💬 If you’ve made the leap to consulting, what was the biggest mindset shift for you? I’d love to hear your experience.
